Optimistic vs. Realistic

Today when everything around has slowed down and we are stretching ourselves to achieve our full potential by managing both home and office, we often tend to loose ourselves in all the hustle bustle. We follow the same routine and have become machines. In this everyday tussle we forget who we are and what are our wants. This is when we start sinking in the world unknown and we 'try' and search the brighter side of our lives but when we fail to do so we tend to curse our luck and everything around us.
If you have noticed closely, we will always find two sort of people around us firstly the Optimistic category who will just overlook the negative and ugly things around. I feel they live in a wonderland of their own and wish to see only happy things around them. This style of facing our life is definitely good as we stay away from worries and tensions, but the discord strikes when something bad happens and we can't look beyond the sadness that is when we sink into the dark unknown world. We block all the help from our well wishers and give up on life because we were never prepared to face the draconian.
The other sort of people who we find are the Realistic category, these are those people who stay upbeat and know what lies ahead and make adequate plans to face the challenges in the road ahead. Personally I feel it is always better to be realist as one is aware of their surroundings and have a plan B ready. Realistic people have an idea of the reality and have imagined probable outcomes. They foresee the obstacles but due to the optimism in them they also find the way around these obstacles. Most importantly these realist optimist people believe and focus on growth. This allows them to tap their incredible human potential. They imagine what could become possible and work hard to make it a reality. They understand failure is fine but failing because you were ignorant is not.
The growing news of depression and suicides have unsettled most. The World is in a bad shape. On one hand we are losing jobs, on the other hand some have forgotten their personal life or the joy of weekends. On one hand we fear the known and the unknown and have long not met our loved ones. The pandemic have brought out the worst and best for everyone. The point in all this is true there lies a danger outside but we all need to be prepared and alert to face the danger. We need to build ourselves train our body and mind and be ready to fight. It is good to be optimistic and think yes we are safe and soon all will be well. But to be realist optimist is a better idea where we know someday life will go back to its normalcy, but till then our minds most importantly needs to be trained so that we don't sink into the swamp. We need to use this time with utmost caution instead of focusing on what we are losing out we need to look ahead and make a plan B and focus what we can gain in this situation.
Like the realist optimist we have to believe that we will succeed but how to make the success happen is the target we should have in mind. Optimistic people believe on the other hand that success will automatically find them and fall on their lap and when this does not happen they tend to break down. They don't realize that believing the road to success to be rocky will lead to greater success because it forces you to take action.
Every small business or endeavor will not succeed fully at the first outset. This is when we should be high on the dose of optimism and look forward. As truism as it sounds but treat those failing experiences as learning experiences and don't let your positivity be bogged down by too much realism.
Whether we are naturally optimistic or more of a realistic, it is impossible to know what the future holds. So perhaps the best of both world is to be realist optimist. What we choose to be is part of our personality-but it is possible. We can be more conscious of our own pattern of thoughts and learn skills to help us be more flexible in our outlook.

  2. Lovely read. Shallow optimism will always sink you in. Optimism should be always combined with action and challenge ourself to improve on our shortcomings. It's very important to be grateful for our surroundings. To get a fit body it takes daily routine. Similarly to get a healthy mind it again takes perseverance i.e we should follow these traits daily and gradually courage to take action, compassion for others and wisdom for any situation will automatically wells forth.

Log Kya Kahenge!!

This is not just a quarantine frustration blog, on the contrary I am quite enjoying my quarantine period. It's not everyday that we get a chance to discover ourselves and spend quality time with our loved ones. This blog is created to find an answer to all those subconscious thoughts which we bury somewhere and eventually give up on the tussle that life throws at us constantly. I am just trying to speak my heart out and reach out to all those who think alike. Please feel free to judge and comment as I am new here and any sort of comment is most welcome, will wait for them with open mind. Till then enjoy reading!! The Question that always haunts a human mind is "Am I doing it right","should I do it","can we take the chance", so on and so forth. We think and think till we do what we are exactly expected to do not by us but by all those judgmental eyes waiting to grab that single opportunity where one can be demeaned for doing it in an improper way.

Working Mothers

Hello everyone!! here I am back with another queer inquisitive thought of my mind..."Working Mothers". I have often wondered that when a child is asked to introduce oneself, the sentence he is asked 'where does your father work ?, and your mother what does she do?", "is she working or not?" Why can't the question be reversed and the question asked about the father is also asked similarly for the mother. Surprising the concept of maternity leave always existed, and most of the women preferred to take it after the child is born as that is when the responsibility doubles. But what about Paternity leave?, it took us so many years to realize that a father is also responsible for a child's upbringing. A mother who joins office soon after child birth is looked down upon. Instead of supporting her people will ask her "why so soon it's only 3 months or 6 months." Did anyone for once ask the new father, "why so soon it's only been
